So my last post was a month ago and I talked about how my Week in Review was going to be a regular thing and then, poof, nothing. While like many people in this world, things happen and you just take longer to get back on the horse that is blog writing. I hope this is the first and last time I have to apologize.
So what has happened this week in the web and closer to my home of Reno, Nevada?
On the Web
Joe McNally is running his one day workshops in Dobbs Ferry and has posted two great posts on what is going on and what goes on during the workshop. Can you get on a plane and get out to New York?
David duChemin made the trip out to the NYC to see the Mighty Joe McNally, but the big news is a great post on the idea of what a professional photographer is or means. It is worth a read and a great debate.
Syl Arena keeps cranking out his great Lessons I Didn’t Learn In Photo School posts, LIDLIPS for short. I love reading these, but I have to ask, what DID Syl learn in photo school. That is post I look forward too.
Locally
It is a pretty big weekend in Reno. We have the Reno Rodeo in town and it is finishing up this weekend. My friend and fellow shooter Fielding Cathcart is down in the shoots with the bulls and the broncos, triggering strobes and getting some great shots.
The Battle Born Derby Demons are having their second home bout of the season, but since their first bout was rained out, this is really the first bout. If you are near downtown Reno, swing on by and watch the Demons lay down the hurt. If can’t make the trip to Reno, look up your local women’s derby team, especially if you are looking to photograph some great subjects.
Speaking of the Demons I have been doing the teams individual players spots for marketing purposes for the team and as always, a great experience. I can’t wait to share some of those photos with you.
