My first wedding.

My first wedding.

That is to say, the first wedding the I photographed. Like many wedding photographers before me, this was shot for close friends. And I must say, I had a great time. Less than ideal conditions and light, but the family and friends made up for all of that. I learned a lot from this experience. I think I made a few good pics from the event. Here are just a quick set of images from the camera, no real edits have been done.

Fear and Loathing in Paso Robles, Day 2 and 3

Fear and Loathing in Paso Robles, Day 2 and 3

So we did so much at the Paso Robles photo workshops with Joe McNally yesterday, that I didn’t have time to post anything from Day 2, and now it is Day 3. But that is just how it is here in Paso Robles, time flies when you are using TTL and speedlights. Syl Arena continues to impress the students and myself with the amenities of the workshop.

On Day 2, Syl took us to the depths of an abandoned warehouse that was used to process almonds some 50 years ago. In the cold with Anna

In the cold with Anna

So it is snowing and the wind is blowing in Reno today. This reminded me of a shoot that I had done a few months ago in similar conditions with Anna Vetter, a model I met on Model Mayhem. We couldn’t make it up into the high mountain of the Sierra Nevada’s because of the weather, so we shot lower down the hill. You can’t tell how cold it is by looking at Anna.

Working with Pam

Working with Pam

I met Pam on Model Mayhem, a great site to find and work with models as you expand your portfolio. We had a great concept for a shoot, but some props didn’t come arrive in time, so we went with a basic shoot and man it was a blast.

New Rollery Derby Team Shoot

New Rollery Derby Team Shoot

If you have not read the About section of this blog, and really who does, you probably do not know that I am the team photographer for the Battle Born Derby Demons, Reno’s premier female roller derby team. This is just a quick snap shot of the work we did this past Saturday, for the new team picture. Their season has already started, but their first home bout is not until the end of May. Check out their schedule for dates as times and say hello, I will be the guy with cameras in harms way.
